While on the Subject of Eyelashes…

Blepharitis is often missed as an underlying factor in causing mild to moderate eye symptoms. If you are prone to this – as many people experience a mild version of blepharitis at some point – you know it has a tendency to wax and wane according to season, stress, and diet.

In mild cases (and mild symptoms) you can manage this with a simple warm compress in the shower.

More advanced cases require a more aggressive treatment approach.

You can read more about blepharitis here.

Glaucoma Medicine To Make The Eyelashes Grow!!

Hi Everyone,

This entry was adapted from an email I sent out last year. The response was pretty overwhelming.

A lot of you had some great suggestions that I thought might be helpful to others.

To recap, many of you noticed that a drug, originally approved for the treatment of glaucoma, was recently FDA approved as a beauty treatment that increases the length and thickness of eyelashes.

A few companies have been out there for some time with a similar (unregulated) formulation, so it was only a matter of time. The medication is meant to be ‘painted’ onto the eyelashes (with a little brush).

Of course, I found this news item interesting because it sheds light on the disease, Glaucoma.

But most of you responded with tips for achieving longer, thicker eyelashes.

So, I thought it would be nice to have a ‘forum’ where you could comment below with your suggestions..

Thanks,

Dr. Lewis

No More “Which is Better?”

Could it be? No more “Which is better, one or two?”

Well. Maybe.

Here’s a neat story that has re-surfaced.

The technology for self-adjusting eyeglasses has been out there for some time. (There are even a few ways of accomplishing the result). But now we’re finally seeing real-world results.

Of course, the idea currently applies best for the third world where very few have access to eye care. But its a concept that could certainly take off anywhere once the marketers get a hold of it.

Here’s the Link
